Dearest Sattler Stakeholders,
I am thrilled to share Presidential Newsletter #9. Onward to power, love, and sound minds/discipline (2 Tim 1:7).
Therefore Go – Friday, March 28
- We’re hosting our annual Therefore Go event, Ambassadors for Christ – Living Out the Message. The event runs from 10:00 AM at Sattler’s campus to 9:00 PM at Tremont Temple, featuring speakers, workshops, and concluding with a sermon and worship in Converse Hall. While designed for our Boston Sattler community, visitors are welcome! Register Here.

Boston Christian History Tour – Saturday, March 29
- Dr. Kuruvilla will lead the iconic Boston Christian History walking tour on Saturday, March 29, at 9:00 AM. Limited spots available! Register Here.
Championing Sattler’s Fully-Funded Model
- A recent Boston Globe article, “Brown University’s annual tuition and fees to hit $92,000, as Ivy League prices soar,” highlights the ongoing crisis of rising tuition costs. $92,000 a year seems quite high, which is why you should…
… Refer a Student – Get a Sattler Pennant!
- Your referrals are invaluable—most of our students first hear about Sattler through personal recommendations. If you know someone who would thrive here, refer them or, better yet, benevolently nudge them to start an application!
- As a token of appreciation, we’ll mail you an exclusive Sattler College pennant flag—because institutional pride is best displayed with flair.

Celebrating 50 Years of Dr. Kuruvilla
- We had the joy of celebrating Dr. Kuruvilla’s half-century milestone, honoring his visionary leadership. The event was made even more special with heartfelt tributes and the presence of his parents, who shared cherished stories from his childhood.

Awards & Grants – Expanding Opportunities
- Accepted applicants demonstrating excellence and a heart for discipleship can become Entrusted Scholars, receiving fully-funded tuition in exchange for kingdom service and financial gratitude.
- New this year: Additional awards and grants for outstanding students! Learn more on our cost page and read Director of Admissions Jonathan Rocha’s blog post: “Sattler’s Commitment to Excellence: Introducing New Awards and Grants.”
- Spotlight: The Global Impact Grant
- This grant covers room and board for one year for an international student who demonstrates financial need and a heart for global discipleship. If you know someone who fits the bill, encourage them to apply before April 1, 2025.
Dr. Jose Florez Visits Sattler
- A visitor recently told me that Sattler is “punching above its weight class.” I think that’s a fitting description!
- Recently, the Pre-Health Club hosted Dr. Jose Florez, Physician-in-Chief and Chair of the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. It was an incredible opportunity for our students and faculty.

Board Meetings & Accreditation Update
- Our Board of Trustees met on February 15 to guide Sattler forward. The next meeting will be May 16, just before our 4th commencement.
- We’re hosting an Evaluation Team from TRACS on March 4–7, 2025, for our Reaffirmation of Accreditation. Your prayers for a successful visit are appreciated!
Student Mentor Retreat
- Student mentors and our Directors of Student Life gathered in Maine for a retreat focused on rest, reflection, and spiritual growth. Highlights included meaningful discussions, cold plunges, saunas, and snowy hikes—a fitting metaphor for the refining process of discipleship.

Quote Bank Challenge
- Did you know one of our alumni created a Sattler Quote Bank? It’s filled with memorable moments from our staff, faculty, students, and alumni. Each month, we’ll award Sattler merchandise to the first three people who correctly guess the origin of a featured quote!
This Month’s Quote:
“If at first you succeed, don't try again."
- Send an email with your answer to president@sattler.edu for a chance to win.
