Sattler College is thrilled to welcome our newest incoming students—the Class of 2030 and our new certificate students! This year’s incoming class of 18 students represents one of the strongest groups of students Sattler has welcomed. Coming from across the United States, Canada, and Europe, these students bring a wide range of interests, experiences, and aspirations, but share a common desire to grow in their faith while pursuing a rigorous Christian education.

We are especially grateful for the academic strength of this year’s incoming class. Students have an average standardized test score in the 82nd percentile, placing them well above the national average. More importantly, these students have demonstrated the character, academic preparation, and faith that we believe will allow them to thrive in our community.

Who are they?

The students arriving at Sattler have taken a variety of paths to get here. Some have graduated from private Christian schools, while others come from homeschooling or public school backgrounds. One student also completed an associate degree at another Christian college, while another is entering Sattler as a junior after completing an accelerated high school and college program.

Their experiences and aspirations are just as diverse. Some hope to pursue overseas missions, while others are preparing for careers in medicine, business, ministry, and other fields. Several have already spent significant time serving their churches and communities, while others have developed their interests through work, travel, and service.

The incoming class also represents a range of Christian traditions. A majority of students come from various Anabaptist backgrounds, including Mennonite, Anabaptist, and Church of the Brethren traditions. Together, these students make up 55.6% of the incoming class. Another 33.3% come from evangelical or Baptist backgrounds, while the remaining students come from Pentecostal and Catholic communities.

Despite these differences, the students share a common desire to grow in their faith, pursue academic excellence, and prepare themselves to serve Christ and others. We are excited to see how their different gifts, experiences, and interests will enrich the Sattler community!

Relational Community

This year’s incoming class also reflects the importance of relationships in Sattler’s recruitment. All but one incoming student heard about Sattler through a personal connection—a friend, family member, church member, alumnus, current student, or other acquaintance.

We are grateful for everyone who played a part in introducing these students to Sattler and welcoming them into our community. Their stories remind us that recruitment at Sattler is ultimately relational. Students do not simply choose a college; they choose a community of people who will walk alongside them as they grow academically and spiritually.

Looking Ahead

As we welcome our new incoming class, we are also looking ahead to the next class and praying for the students God may be preparing to bring to Sattler. We pray that He would guide them to Sattler, prepare their hearts for a season of growth, and continue to draw students who share our vision of relational discipleship and academic excellence.
