Anthony Viola, MLIS

Director of Library

Mr. Viola earned his Masters in Library and Information Science at Simmons College, prior to that he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in writing and communication at Emerson College. He began working in libraries during his high school years. First employed as a shelver in the Boston Public Library system, he has worked in a variety of positions from Cataloger, Technical Services Librarian and Reference and Instruction Librarian for a variety of schools and colleges such as Massachusetts Bay Community College, Quincy College, Milton Academy, Newbury College and Cambridge College.

Mr. Viola is a lifelong Boston resident. He grew up in East Boston, where he was raised in the Christian faith and was educated in both a parochial grammar and high school. He currently lives in Jamaica Plain.
